What's missing!
How did my day start? I still can't drive. I Uber to office. This kind gentleman held open the door for me. "Nice car", I said. "Oh thank you! Nice car for the pretty lady in the car!". I typed the message to my boy friend, 'dude you have to improve. Strangers treat me better than you'. Of course I didn't send it. I am a lot matured now. When the Uber reached my office, he stopped me "No, let me get the door for the lady!" He held open the door for me again. Message sent! :D
My manager is a she. I can't tell you how worried I was because of her being she. Past experience! Apparently my team likes her. I was relieved, and glad to meet such a pleasant hard working lady. My team buddy is another kind man. He motivates me to bug him with lots of question. With the level of my curiosity I am sure he will kick me out soon enough. Or maybe not, he is really nice. When I ask questions I think if somebody else would have asked this to me, I would have been patient. First week was pretty smooth. But ye toofan ke pehle ki shanti hai! Bless me, my dear GOD. You know I love you. :D
And my post will not get published without the mention of my proud dad. If, IF it were a possibility my dad would carry a board 'My-daughter-who-is-in-Amrika-Now-In-Amazon'. Haha. I adore him. I hope people are taking him easy, he is just happy. I am glad I am the reason behind it.
'We' celebrated 10 years of our togetherness this July 7! I can't thank God enough for blessing me with 'him'. His digital glimpse after a tiring day serves me with what the 'revital' advertisement claimed in stone age. I gifted him a private charter ride on his special day. Yeah, yeah I am pretty big person now! I borrowed the $$ from him to gift him. Damn! I am such a loser! But Hey! it was a surprise, and he loved it. His money, my money. My money, my money! Wow, I can be the scrooge mc duck then!
Let's get serious. Let me boast a little more.
Graduated from one of the elite colleges! Software Development Engineer 1 at Amazon! Insane paycheck. Working with smartest engineers. Fancy? From a distance too far it is a vivid dream. It was mine. I am living it now. You want something. You focus on it, eliminating everything else, you will get it. Trust me. You will! Take your chances. Come out of your comfort zone. If you have two choices out of which one bothers you. Choose the one that bothers, that will help you grow.
Now the real question is: Am I happy? Nay! Not really. But. BUT, I wasn't happy before either. Haha. Happiness is the biggest challenge in life. Well better be, NOT happy with a bigger pay check. :P Though, can you buy mom made food with the paycheck? Can you buy that road side pani puri, jisme sweaty aur greasy hands ke bina taste ni ata. Haha.
United States is a like that beautiful vacation you always wanted to go. India however, is home! It will always be. Waah! Proud of myself. Actually home is where your friends and family are! So when I came to US, I dragged all my friends with me. Now when I am thinking I will get back to India in future, I will have to drag them back as well. They are so going to hate me!
After no regrets I hope I return home one day and be proud that I did everything I always wanted to. Bas makeup artist/hair dresser wala passion reh gaya. I gave a hair cut to my boy friend once, and proudly presented him to my friends. Rest is history. He will never let me touch his hair again! But I like challenges you know! ;)
