....It's all about "HUM" and "TUM"
I was at my cousins place for past two days. We had some stupendous time out there. We had lots to talk to, lots to do! We talked everything like "of shoes-and ships-and- sealing- wax, Of cabbages and kings; And why the sea is boling hot-And whether the pigs have wings!" All I want to say is it was a mere chit chat and nothing else! We saw the photographs of our cousins[other] who're offshore...and I thought how much this "I" ego is prevalent. Who thinks of "WE"?...
..and I read this....
"YOU say that our government is inefficient. YOU say that our laws are too old. YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. YOU say that phones don't work. The railways are a joke. The airlines are the worst in the world. Mails never reach their destinations. YOU say that our country has gone to the dots and is absolute pits. YOU say, say and say.
What do YOU do about it ?
Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name-YOURS. And a face YOURS.
YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your international best.In Singapore, YOU don't throw cigarette butts on the roads.
YOU wouldn't dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds(Rs 650) a month to "see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else."
YOU would not dare to speed beyond 88 kmph in Washington and then tell the traffic cop,"Jaanta hai saala main kaun hoon?(Do you know who I am?).I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost."
Why don't YOU spit paan on the streets of Tokyo? Why don't YOU buy fake certificates in Boston?
WE are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and confirm to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own.YOU, who will throw papers and cigarettes on the roads the moment you touch Indian ground.
If you can be invoved and appreciative citizen in alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India? "
Jessica lall. Everyday newspaper has the full coverage on "justice to Jessica"! The way public is united it's a great thing! ...but what about the other thousands of jessicas who aren't a renowned model but have been a victim in a more barbaric way!...Why are we asleep? Why do we have to say "yaar, this is world. You cannot change it."
Can't we...?..May be this "I" factor is prevalent! Who cares about "we". May be America. Aurtralia, England are developed, who cares if India remains the same developing nation. May be another 50 years passes by who cares India remains the same developing nation! May be .....who cares...." I am happy and why should I waste my time ".
May be you say "ha, what the hell this 16 year old girl will say".....
....if you boast to be the proud youths of our country....can you tell me "What do YOU do for your country" and I include myself in this You. I am no exception.
I wrote this not just for sake of writing a post but all I can say is that it justifies my blog title. I read this...you'll read this..may be you'll reflect for a while or may be not and then all of us will be back to "I".
....and India was. India is. and India will be? a developing nation!
get up now...subah ho gayi mamoooo :))

yaar exams ke baad bacche relax karte hain ..tum kyun apne ghutne mein dard kar rahe ho :P:P
On a slightly non-serious note, at 16 there ain`t much anything u can do for the country anyway!
Will catch ya soon ..lots of free time is making u go nuts! :P
We can change the world. But how do we change politics?
X-(
all rite..itni mehnat kar ke likha tha..aur..lemme get a pistol this time! :P:P
on a slightly serious note there's still much i can do @ 16 for my country. Serving your country doesn't mean that it always has to be on a large scale. anyway..tum nahi samjhoge..mujhe toh ghutne mein dard hai..tumhe in foot? =))
jaago..desh ke naujaawano...ek nayi rani laxmi bai ne janm liya hai..I'll change the world!

PS: Silky se baat hui?
And an overdose of Newschannels means i have been listening to all the harpings about the 'J' case and now the 'M'eher Case...will somebody plz tell me why did the son harbour such ANTI-Social jerks in his apartment??
Sorry baccha....but pseudo's do not get any of my sympathy...tumhare blog par mera frustration nikal gaya .. :P
Take Care!!
I remember that. I had that poem in 10th grade. Walrus and the carpenter(Or something like that). It's about how the walrus cheats oysters or something...right?
>>...i can do @ 16 for my country
You ARE in 10th grade-ICSE. Walah!
And you are right, we ourselves should change. If the people change, if people expect more, demand more, it becomes a norm. Standards will rise. But people in India have TOO much of a 'Chaltha Hai' attitude. We just 'adjust'. That's not necessarily a good thing. Everyone is like,"Well we can't do anything about it. Too bad. Just have to adjust". I think that should change. Nothing changes if the government makes a ton of rules and keeps clean, but the people don't respect that. We keep blaming others for our own faults.
Glad to get that off my chest.
I think we enjoy calling ourselves as developing nation...so we'll continue to be one :)
I cant stop cribbing how many problems we are facing here coz of us be developing and how great ummm-riccaann life style is.....hehehe
Okey Dokey, have been whizzing past yer blog for quite some time now, but today, I just had to comment.

I am glad that you got the point! :D
...we can do much, just when everybody becomes a little more responsible...

//'Chaltha Hai' attitude. We just 'adjust'.
exactly..and this is where we are going wrong!...a little change..a little awakeness...a little effort by each of the indian citizen can bring the biggest change!..only if the attitude changes.
@arz00n

//accha tha lekin tum bhi shayad sirf bolti hi rahogi!!!!
well...i am sorry but I am a bit practical girl! I wonder if you are my classmate you know me better!
...all rite I have answer to your queries:
agree my room is never set to perfection and is never absolutely neat...agree I am a lazy fellow...
aal rite now if you are talking about cleaning my room, my dear friend I never allow anybody[not even my sister to even touch anything which is mine]..I arrange things by myself in my own room!..and don't think I've to justify that!
..wonder it has no connection with our country's development! :O
all rite..and if you talking of cleaning the streets..i can never pick up somebody else' dirt but yes I don remember last when I myself threw even a sweet's rapper on road!..If u're my classmate+ as you call yourself..i wonder u know me better!
//frst brng a revolution in urself!!!!!wat say???????????
I never said i am perfect. + I included myself in the "YOU" I've mentioned in my post...if you've read just superficially!
even i dnt think i'm being rude!!!
am i????????????
@ shake ji
haha..aap toh darr gaye! arre you don't worry I am cool!...but.....just try to get only just a bit of what i posted! anyway..up to you. :)
main yeh nahi keh rahi that u r perfect but the way u rote in ur blog abt those things it seemd as if u thinks ur feeble words can actualy change anyone's minds, opinion or behaviour 2wards the'll jst read it comment on it & let it off (& 2 b honest enuf even i & u r doing the same thing )
so y waste ur time in writing such things.pls b practical as u say u r!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all rite. First may know whom you're afraid of! ..me? a fellow blogger who has nothing to do than just giving speech!
c'mmon show some guts and let me know who is this "shubh chintak" of mine! :)
// ur feeble words can actualy change anyone's minds, opinion or behaviour 2wards the'll jst read it comment on it & let it off (& 2 b honest enuf even i & u r doing the same thing )
and I have no such intentions too. I have never imposed any of my thinking on anybody. It's their life and they're are smart enough to decide what's right and what's not.I just posted what I felt...I am least intersted in politics!
//so y waste ur time in writing such things.pls b practical as u say u r!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ah you don't worry about that. I have ample free time [to waste as you say]!...I do what I think is right.
..and surprisingly may be it's just a mere rubbish for you but let me tell you I've never thought so and I am practical, you got it right! :)
if you think all this what i wrote and am writing is just a time wasting thing then I wonder why do you have to waste your time just to prove that I am wrong!
